COD Ledger privacy policy
Last updated: October 2026
COD Ledger ("the app") is provided by Essentia Apps to merchants using Shopify. This policy describes what the app collects and how it is used, when you install it on your store.
What the app accesses
Through Shopify's API, with your permission at install: orders (payment method, amounts, fulfillments and tracking numbers, shipping city and province) and product costs.
What the app stores
- Your shop's domain and an access token, to read cash-on-delivery orders and, if you turn it on, mark them paid and tag returns.
- For each cash-on-delivery order: the order ID and number, amounts, courier, tracking numbers, product titles and costs, and the shipping city and province (for return-rate reports).
- The rows of courier sheets you upload, and expenses you enter.
How it is used
Only to provide the app's features to your store. We do not sell data, show ads, or share it with third parties, except the hosting provider that runs the app.
Your customers
The app stores only the shipping city and province of cash-on-delivery orders: never names, phone numbers, emails or street addresses. Shopify's mandatory privacy requests are answered automatically; an erasure request clears the city and province on that customer's orders.
Retention and deletion
When you uninstall the app, Shopify notifies us and all of your store's data is deleted within 48 hours of that notice.
Security
Data is sent over HTTPS and stored on a private server. Access is limited to what's needed to run and support the app.
